Quick little run-down of why Wrigley was so important to me to visit. Number one, oldest stadium left in the National league(Second oldest in all of baseball). The Cubs played their first game there on April 20, 1916, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 7–6 in 11 innings. It’s the last major league park to have lights installed for play after dark, in 1988. The ivy on the outfield brick walls, I don’t know it just feels so ‘baseball’ to me. But the number one reason for me, was that it was my uncles favorite team outside of SF and he used to talk to me about going there and I remember him wearing Cubs hats and what not. So in a way, I was doing it for him too. Ok enough of my rant, here’s the photos…
On the way to Wrigley stopped by an old Speakeasy…
